Spring Fresh



I was trying to decide what color I should put on my nails the other day and I think this is my favourite newly discovered nail polish combo. I was thinking why I haven't put on Turquoise and Caicos for such a long while since I love greens and turquoises so much and then I remembered why.......

1 coat
It's super streaky!!! =o=; I don't know if it's only my bottle but my other Essie polishes never had such severe uneven streakyness. If you have Turquoise and Caicos let me know if yours is streaky like this as well! I know this is only 1 coat but there is a difference between sheer and streaky. I've already tried my best to apply it as evenly as I could, but this was the best I could do. :(

2nd Coat - more opaque and better but u can still see some
uneven streakyness on my thumb. After applying the 3rd layer, the
unevenness is gone but I hate putting on so many layers because it takes
 so much longer to dry completely

I then decided to add an accent color after putting on a third coat of the Essie polish. Jill Stuart's Shiny Prism contains fine multi-colored sparkly glitters that looks like what you would see when you shine a clear prism under the sunlight - absolutely beautiful. In this picture it looks more silver-ish but in the one below you can see the colours better.

    That accent nail is so pretty, looks like a gorgeous topcoat. That's too bad the Essie polish is so streaky! I've had similar issues with another mint polish, Revlon's Minted. I basically don't wear it even though I love the shade because the application is so terrible.

      Yeah, I think i'll be putting the Jill Stuart on top of a lot of things now, the fact that it has multi-colour glitters in it seems like it'll work with everything :D That's too bad, the Revlon's Minted seems so popular but no one ever mentioned it's streakyness. Hmmm...I'll be on the hunt for a perfect non-streaky pretty mint polish now lol.

    omg i was going to get this polish the other day too!! it's such a pretty "Tiffany & Co." color! <3 Too bad its streaky though :( But you're right, the glitter polish over top is so pretty!!

      It's a really pretty color but you have to really work for it lol :S If you like the "Tiffany & Co." color, I believe China Glaze's For Audrey is the exact color for it! :)

    I thought I was the only one who experienced streakiness with Essie polishes. I do own 3 different shades and the Essie Guchi Muchi Puchi one was really streaky like this. Not what I was expecting with that one but other two worked well.

      I'm the same as you! The other two Essie polishes that I own are streak free and goes on perfectly, so I think Essie is like a hit or miss with some of their polishes but they have such a nice range of colours I don't mind haha. :)
