Most Glamorous Nudes Ever

Hello my lovelies! I know it's been a really really long time since I've last posted, I miss you guys so much and hopefully you all feel the same! I already have several drafted posts so be a little bit more patient, stay tuned and I will be posting them soon. With that aside, I'm back with a review on the new Benefit World Famous Neutrals palette - Most Glamorous Nudes Ever. I know this purchase was a crime because I have 5 life time's worth of neutral eyeshadows lol....both Naked 1 & 2 palettes, drugstore neutral quads, high-end neutral quads, the Coastal Scents 88 Warm Palette and the most recent addition to the family - The Balm's Nude'tude. Yeah...it's clear, I have problems but how can you resist a $36 eyeshadow palette that consisted of 4 eyeshadows and 2 cream eyeshadows? :T What gravitated me to this palette the most was the infamous cream eyeshadows (heaps of rave on Birthday Suit) and the swatch of it's complicated on my hand had me lining up at the cashier.

Benefit's products always have a cutest packaging. The palette is presented like a little miniature book with a magnetic closure. On the inside, you can flip open two nicely illustrated instructions for creating a daytime look and a playtime (night) look with a mirror in the middle. Super cute!

The quality of these eyeshadows are nice but nothing spectacular in my opinion; they are soft and velvety in texture, but not rich and buttery feeling like Urban Decay or Wet n' Wild eyeshadows. I'm still perfectly content with these eyeshadows, but in terms of "wow" standards my bars are raised pretty high now. My slight disappointment with this kit is that the eyeshadows do not show up on my eyelids as nice as they appear on hand swatches. This may be because of my skin tone, as there seems to be no problems raised with other blogger reviews that I have read. However, I think this is still a good summer go-to palette for me because the colours are natural and gives you a subtle glowy-ness to the eyes with the warm golden undertones and gold shimmer.

Birthday Suit (top), My Two Cents (bottom)

The Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows are great for bases or alone. Birthday Suit is a really pretty champagne colour and I love the copper tone in My Two Cents. The texture of these cream eyeshadows feels extremely creamy...so creamy to the point where I think "oil slick" is a better description. For those of you who have Maybelline Color Tattoos, I'll just say I prefer those much better in terms of texture. The lasting power of Benefit's cream eyeshadows are great when topped with powder eyeshadow, but when alone, I do notice a bit of fading near the end of the day.

Final verdict: This is a really good spring/summer palette especially for those who enjoy the natural eye makeup look. Although you may think that the colours in this palette are really similar to the ones you may already have in your stash, when you actually try to pair them side by side - these colours are unique (at least for my collection anyways).  So I guess my purchase is somewhat justifiable lol. It's a good palette, but not a scream-and-rush-to-sephora-counter must have or must buy.

  1. This review couldn't have come at a better time - I was literally just looking at this at a department store here yesterday! However I think the Australian version has 2 different cream shadows, unless there's one with the exact same powder shadows but different cream shadows outside Australia as well? There was one cream shadow, I forget the name, but I was so thinking of buying the whole palette just for a tiny pot of it :p I agree that the texture and pigmentation of the powder shadows wasn't amazing, but passable. Though I'd guess half of them would barely show up on my lids.

    1. Hmmm funny how they have variations of the same product in different places. Sometimes they might just have switched up the naming of the product but I'm not sure. I admit, I bought this kit with the majority of reason for the creaseless cream eyeshadows lol. so bad XD

    2. Well after having a closer look at the range I think I was looking at another palette entirely - Easiest Nudes Ever. The cream shadow I liked was Thanks a Latte haha :) I would totally get the palette just for the cream shadows!

  4. This looks so pretty - but as you said, they look like colours I already own. So can't justify the purchase even if they do end up different... but that mini pot of Birthday Suit is ADORBS! x
