Cathy Doll x Hello Kitty Collection Haul & Review

I am definitely a sucker for cute packaging and if you bring Hello Kitty into it....which was my childhood, I definitely couldn't pass this up. Anyone else?! It was definitely a bit tricky getting my hands on this collection because Cathy Doll is an Asian beauty brand originated from Thailand. Personally, I was unfamiliar with this brand until I saw this collection through social media. I purchased these products through Yesstyle and it took about a month to be delivered to me. Everything was carefully wrapped and all my products came in perfect condition!

L-R: Oil Control Blur Pact, Frozen Peach, Frozen Strawberry, Choco Apricot

All of these powder compacts come with a mirror, small white puffer, and clear plastic divider inside. Each compact has a different Hello Kitty Design on the top - super cute!

Oil Control Blur Pact in Translucent: claims to "control oil and blur enlarged pores while reducing excess oil on the face with its fine powder particles which can absorb oil from the pores effectively. In addition, it can be reapplied during the day without causing rough patches. Achieve bright and long-lasting radiance after using this item". The powder is finely milled with a very soft and smooth texture which applies translucent and mattifies the skin as stated.

Cotton Shine Blusher in #01 Frozen Strawberry: a medium toned pink with small micro silver shimmer. This blush applies fairly pigmented on the cheeks, so I would definitely advise tapping off the excess and/or dipping your brush into the pan lightly. The shimmer is not very apparent when applied, but can be seen if looked closely on the skin. The blush is finely milled, smooth and soft to touch.

Cotton Shine Blusher in #02 Frozen Peach: a peachy warm toned pink blusher with micro golden shimmer. This blush is also very finely milled, soft and smooth in texture as well. The colour applies with medium pigmentation. Although the blush has some shimmer, it is not overly shimmery on the cheeks. The gold shimmer can be seen upon close inspection, however, nothing over the top and gives the cheeks a nice glow.

Cotton Matte Blusher in #03 Choco Apricot: a matte coral shade. Like the other powders, it is finely milled, soft and smooth in texture. The blush is pigmented and I would recommend going a light hand when dipping your brush into it. It's definitely a very cute shade for summer to give your cheeks a nice coral flush of colour!

Blur Brow Powder Pencil in #02 Dark Brown: is a a twist up pencil that comes with a sharpener at its bottom end. It is said to be a special formulated "pressed powder brow pencil" that is  waterproof, sweat-proof and fade proof. It also claims to bring a "naturally defined look to the brows with its soft, long-wearing and pigmented color that glides on smoothly...[it] softens and blurs the stiff brow look for naturally smooth appearance without repeatedly brushing".

I've used this brow pencil quite a few times since I've received this product. The hot summer weather has definitely put this brow pencil to test and I'm happy to say that this brow pencil is definitely waterproof, sweat-proof and fade proof. However, I would recommend going a light hand when using this brow pencil as it can be quite pigmented. When applied, it has a waxy feel to the skin; I usually use a spooly to brush out the colour for a more natural finish.

L-R:
Color Lipstick in #02 Sorbet Halabong and #03 Dry Persimmon,
Airy Lip Blur in #02 Peach Rose, #03 Sun Rose, and #04 Red Rose,
Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse in #01 Punch, #02 Carrot, and #04 Red Ribbon

The Color Lipsticks are packaged in a metallic heavy weighted tube with magnetic closure which feels quite nice in the hands. Both #02 Sorbet Halabong and #03 Dry Persimmon are satin finishes which apply smoothly on the lips and are fairly pigmented. Sorbet Halabong is a muted red orange and Dry Persimmon is a neutral red brown.

The Airy Lip Blur series contain Camellia flower extract and hyaluronic acid which help to moisturize the lips. I can definitely smell a bit of floral scent in the product (so if you're not a fan of scented products, I would not recommend this because the scent lingers a while). These lippies glides on to the lips and feels very smooth; almost an oil-like moisturizer sensation but settles after a while so it's not a greasy feeling throughout. These lip products dry down to a satin finish. Peach Rose and Sun Rose are fairly similar in colour. Both colours fall into the coral category.  However, the differential factor between the two colours is Peach Rose has more of a red undertone, while Sun Rose is more orange based. Red Rose is a bright strawberry colour.

Airy Lip Blur in #02 Peach Rose, #03 Sun Rose, and #04 Red Rose,
Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse in #01 Punch, #02 Carrot, and #04 Red Ribbon

Like the name suggests, Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse products settles down and dries matte on the lips or cheeks. These products also contain a blend of mixed berry and aloe vera extracts to provide the lips with nourishment. The Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse also contain a subtle vanilla scent. Compared to the Airy Lip Blur products, this vanilla scent is not as pungent. This lip and cheek product applies smoothly and glides on to the skin well. It does settle a bit in the fine lines on the lips, so I would recommend lip scrubs prior to using this product to avoid that flakey lips look. All of the colours I have are very pigmented. Therefore, if it is used on the cheeks I would recommend only using the smallest, tiniest dab of product. They do blend out well on the lips and cheeks. Punch is a pinky red shade; Carrot is a muted orangey shade; and Red Ribbon is a true "Hello Kitty bow" red.

Both Airy Lip Blur and Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse products are designed in a plastic twist off frosted tubing. The only difference between the two lip product series is the Airy Lip Blur lippies have a matte baby pink cap handle while the Lip & Cheek Matte Mousse products have a metallic cap handle. Each lip product shade also has a different Hello Kitty design like the powder compacts!

Overall, I think all of these lip products have amazing smooth textures and does not dry out the lips. However, I find that the shades are actually very similar in colour and I didn't need to purchase so many to try.
